Becoming a Managing Director
We are recruiting for Managing Directors, senior level deal makers, who are aligned with SEA’s core values. MDs will be responsible for establishing and building out new markets in niche vertical or geographic markets. They must bring with them a depth of experience and network within their markets as well as possess excellent interpersonal, time sensitivity, and client management skills required to help clients navigate what is typically a once in a lifetime event.
In order to excel in this position, you will work closely with the firm’s Managing Directors, gaining hands-on experience in the exciting field of investment banking. You will have varied responsibilities, including preparing research analysis on prospects, clients, and building potential acquirer lists. You will work with industry-standard software and analytic tools, including previous transaction databases, valuation tools, pipeline tracking software, etc. Complex financial modeling skills are not a requirement, however candidates should have knowledge of accounting principles and know how to read a financial statement. This is a position for “A Players” with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Writing skills, the ability to perform research, analyze and articulate findings are a ‘must have’ skill set. As such, the successful candidate must have a track record of academic success, be a team player, and like to work in a team environment. Summer analysts must have strong organizational skills and the ability to proactively multitask and balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment. He or she must possess excellent interpersonal skills, be comfortable interacting with entrepreneurs, and possess self-time management skills.
